Parking fines, nursery or canteen invoices, contribution to public audiovisual... Since July 28, 2020, a network of 5,100 buralists have offered their clients to pay their taxes or certain daily bills directly at the tobacco offices. What are the conditions and how is it going? Service-public.fr explains.
What invoices or taxes?
Fines or invoices from the canteen, nursery or hospital regardless of their amount if you pay by credit card and up to €300 if you pay in cash.
Taxes under €300 whether you pay by cash or by credit card:
contribution to public broadcasting;
housing or property taxes;
all taxes that present the QR code for that purpose.
Warning
You must ensure that:
your tax notice or invoice contains a QR code;
the words "payable to a buralist" appear in the payment terms.
If not, you will have to pay your invoice in the usual manner indicated on the document.
What tobacco shop?
The partner buralists are identified by the logo “Local Payment”/Authorized Partner of the Directorate-General for Public Finance.
You do not have to show your bill to the buralist and the latter has no access to any personal information. You scan your QR code yourself and then you pay.
Payment is made in complete confidentiality using a secure terminal.
