Equality Index: You have until September 1, 2022, to set progress targets

Implemented since 2019, the Gender Equality Index measures wage inequality in companies with at least 50 employees. It aims to close the gender pay gap. To this end, according to the score obtained, your company must publish corrective measures before 1er September 2022.

What is the Gender Equality Index?

This index makes it possible to measure employment equality between women and men on 100 points. This tool is intended for companies of at least 50 employees.

It is structured around five indicators:

  • the gender pay gap (40 points);
  • the difference in annual increases (20 points);
  • the gap in promotions (15 points);
  • increases on return from maternity leave (15 points);
  • the share of women in the company's ten highest salaries (10 points).

Release of progress targets as of September 1, 2022

The calculation of the gender equality index for the year 2021 was published on 1er March 2022.

Depending on the rating obtained by your company, there are publication requirements:

  • If your score is less than 75 points, you have an obligation to publish by any means (company website, display) progress targets for indicators where the maximum points have not been reached and the corrective and salary catch-up measures you will put in place;
  • If your score is less than 85 points, you have an obligation to set and publish on the company's website, where appropriate, progress targets for those indicators where the maximum points have not been reached.

Your company must publish this data before 1er september 2022.

All the measures taken by your company must be published after the deposit on the Telefilm platform the collective agreement or the unilateral decision defining those measures.

In addition, you must communicate the corrective measures taken and the publication procedures to the Ministry of Labor by teledeclaration on Egapro Index. These measures shall also be communicated to the ESC: titleContent through the Economic, Social and Environmental Database (BEDESE).
