JOP Paris 2024: opening of the platform for compensation for economic damage

The government is setting up a platform to collect compensation claims from companies who suffered economic harm as a result of police actions taken in the context of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games (JOP). Claims can be made now.

How do I apply?

Since May 5, 2025, the steps-simplified.fr allows companies impacted by police actions taken under the Paris 2024 JOPs to file a claim online.

To do this, it is necessary to have a demarches-simplifies.fr account or to log in via France Connect.

The company must then provide in the form information relating to its identification (company name, activity carried out...) and its commercial characteristics (occupation of the public domain, staff...) before submitting supporting documents.

Please note

Applications will be processed by the administration which took the police measure (police prefecture, prefecture of the Île-de-France region, etc.). The file will then be sent in its entirety to the 2024 JOP Compensation Commission for its opinion. The decision on compensation will be taken by the competent administration and notified to the company.

What conditions?

The following cumulative conditions must be met in order to qualify for compensation:

  • the measure having caused the damage must have been taken by and on behalf of the State (not, for example, by the City of Paris);
  • the damage duty derive directly the measure (prohibition or restriction of movement, access, etc.);
  • the damage must be certain. It should not just be a benefit that is hoped for. The actual injury will be assessed in the light of the applicant's situation compared with previous years;
  • the damage must be special. It should not apply to all members of a profession in general;
  • the damage must be of a particular gravity for the applicant (reduction in turnover, exceptional costs borne by the applicant).
