What are the different arrangements for training employees in the private sector?
Verified 01 July 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
The private sector employee has access to several training schemes. Some allow the employee to choose his training freely, others are supervised by the employer. We present the training courses chosen by the employee and those planned by his company.
Warning
L'access to training for public officials (official and contractual) is governed by specific rules.
By the employee
The CPF allows any employee without seniority condition to take a training course permitted by this scheme.
The TPP allows any employee to take training to change their trade or profession. Thus, the training requested does not need to be related to the employee's activity.
In principle, there is a seniority requirement.
The conversion or promotion by alternation aims to enable employees to:
- To change profession or profession
- Or to benefit from a social or professional promotion.
It is implemented at the initiative of the employee or the employer.
The scheme is aimed at:
- To everything employee on a permanent contract, including employees in single insertion contract (CUI)
- To the sports employee or professional coach in fixed-term contract (CDD)
- And to the employee placed in position of partial activity.
The qualification level of the employee must be lower than that corresponding to the degree of the license (bac+3).
There are several other specific holidays. In Particular :
- The examination leave allows you to obtain leave to take one or more exams to acquire a certain title or diploma
- The training leave for youth leaders and youth workers allows you to train or improve your coaching or animation skills.
There are several leaves related to the employee-elected function.
For example:
- The training leave for employment counselors allows you to improve your prud'homale functions
- The training leave for staff representatives provides economic training or training on health, safety and working conditions
- The leave for economic, social and trade union training provides training or development for union responsibilities.
By company
The skills development plan of the company describes all the training offered by the employer to its employees.
These trainings aim to:
- Ensuring that employees are adapted to their jobs
- Ensure that they are able to continue to work, particularly in the light of technological developments
- To provide training for young people involved in skills development and the fight against illiteracy.
FYI
The employer may also provide for actions under this plan
- From skills assessment
- And from validation of experience (VAE).
