BTP card: professional identification card of a construction worker

On a building or public works site, the performance of certain works requires the employee to hold a professional identification card. The employer is responsible for the declaration allowing the card to be issued. We present you with the information you need to know.
What applies to you ?
Regulation is different depending on whether the company is a work company temporary or not. It is also different when a foreign company detach an employee in France.
General case
It is an individual and secure card that can reliably identify any employee working on a construction site.
It helps to combat illegal work and unfair social competition. It is often referred to as the 'map' CONSTRUCTION: titleContent ”.
The employees holding the card CONSTRUCTION: titleContent must submit it without delay to the control officers of the State services, at the developer or at originator on-site worker.
The employer must declare employees who carry out, direct or organize construction or public works on a site or on a construction site. Examples of such works include earthworks, construction, demolition.
It is not the sector of activity of the company that is taken into account, but the nature of the work performed by the employee.
The employer is exempted from declaring and applying for a BTP card for the following employees:
- Employees on construction sites working as architects, real estate diagnostics, surveyors, safety and health protection coordinators, drivers, delivery workers, surveyors and surveyors
- Employees whose positions do not involve any work on a site even if they are permanently present there (payroll management, risk management, IT maintenance, for example)
Trainees are not covered, provided that the tutor can provide proof of status.
The card must be applied for as soon as the employer or his representative. The employer is responsible for the employee's declaration allowing the card to be issued.
The BTP card is ordered exclusively via the Internet.
The employer must create an account on the following site:

The employer shall pay a flat-rate fee of €9.80.
The dematerialized payment may be made only:
- By credit card
- By cash advance
- By bank transfer
The menu CONSTRUCTION: titleContent shall be valid for the duration of the contract, whether a CSD: titleContent or a DTA: titleContent.
When the contract is terminated or broken, the card is returned to the employer.
The professional identification card may be replaced by a provisional certificate. This certificate is issued at the end of the application process and the payment of the card CONSTRUCTION: titleContent.
This provisional attestation allows the employee to justify his situation pending receipt of the final BTP card.
If a card is damaged, the employer must return it to the address shown on the back of each card. It will be invalidated and destroyed.
If a card is lost or stolen, the employer must inform the body responsible for managing the scheme.
Whether the card is lost, stolen or damaged, the employer must order and pay for a new card for the employee concerned.
If the employer fails to comply with its reporting obligation, it runs the risk of €4,000 of fine per employee.
In case of a repeat offense within 2 years, the fine may be up to €8,000.

The menu is disabled between 2 missions. For each employee with a valid card, the employer will have to amend the declaration sent to CIBTP France, at the time of the card request, to indicate the existence of a new mission.

The employer does not have to ask for a card if the employee already has a card CONSTRUCTION: titleContent valid.
