Check the validity of your driver's license with the new Verify License platform

Are you an employer of public road passenger or freight transport? You can now find out the validity of the driving license of the people you employ as drivers through the portal Permit Verification.

The new platform, created by the Ministry of the Interior, aims to reduce the number of road accidents involving heavy vehicles or vehicles driven as part of a freight or passenger transport mission.

As a reminder, the employer may at any time ask the employed driver to justify that he still holds his driving license.

Rules and regulations It is also possible to provide in a clause of the employment contract and/or in the

  • a periodic check of the driving license;
  • the obligation to inform the employer immediately of any suspension or withdrawal of the driving license.

Please note

The employer cannot know the information on the number of points held by the employed driver.

Verify Permit Portal Properties

The new portal Permit Verification allows the employer to receive a certificate of verification reliable and secure driver's license. This includes:

  • theidentity of the holder the driving license;
  • the permit number to drive;
  • thevalidity status driving license: valid, invalid or suspended;
  • the category the permit;
  • if applicable, the restrictive conditions (example: requirement to wear glasses to drive);
  • the date and time of issue the attestation.

The data for the certificate is from the National Driving License System (NCPS). The information provided concerns only French driving licenses. They cannot be used outside the professional setting.

The certificate shall take this form:

The employer must inform the employee by any means of his right to obtain a certificate of withdrawal at the end of his contract. This certification will prevent any future consultation of his driver's license by his previous employer.

How do I request a consultation?

In order to receive the desired information regarding the validity of the driver's license via the platform Permit Verification, you must complete the following steps:

  1. create an account;
  2. register your company as a legal representative or agent;
  3. subscribe to a subscription (40 euros HT: titleContent per year) or purchase the necessary tokens for the desired consultations (a token of 0,95 euro HT corresponds to a consultation);
  4. Add the company conductors.
  5. request driver verification.

Please note

For companies with less than 50 employed drivers, the annual subscription allows for 100 consultations. Any unitary consultation beyond this ceiling requires the purchase of tokens.
