Entertainment Contractor: Assistance with the use of the artistic stage (APAJ)

The Assistance to the Employment of the Artistic Plateau (APAJ) is created under the National Fund for Employment in the Performing Arts (FONPEPS).
This aid concerns companies and associations providing production of a live performance in small rooms, in France or abroad.
In order to receive assistance for the employment of the artistic stage (APAJ), the entertainment entrepreneur must meet several conditions relating to the company, the remuneration of employees and the size of the hall.
Conditions concerning the company
The company or association that fills the 4 conditions the following may be supported:
- She must have a entertainment contractor's declaration receipt
- It must have an annual turnover or balance sheet of less than or equal to €5 000 000
- It must have been set up at least 1 year before the date of the representation for which the aid is requested
- It must fall under one of the two national collective agreements of the following live performance:
- Code IDCC 3090 - National Collective Agreement of companies in the Private Live Performance Sector
- Code IDCC 1285 - National Collective Agreement for Artistic and Cultural companies.
Warning
The company whose main activity is national collective agreement of hotels, cafes and restaurants (UNHCR) is not eligible for this aid.
Conditions concerning the remuneration of the employees making up the artistic stage
The company or association must pay each of the employees making up the artistic stage one minimum remuneration. The amount varies according to the method of remuneration.
Fee at the Seal
The minimum amount of the gross stamp varies according to the date on which the performance took place.
Monthly full-time remuneration
The minimum gross monthly remuneration varies according to the date on which the performance took place.
Room Condition
The aid may be granted for a live performance which takes place in a hall or establishment can accommodate up to 500 people.
Example :
The performance takes place in a room that can accommodate up to 615 people. The aid may not be granted.
The amount of the aid depends on the size of the room in which the performance took place.
Room of 300 persons or less
For each performance or repetition, the amount of aid paid shall be the product of the number of performers (7 maximum) by the lump sum next:

If at least one technician is involved in the production of the representation, the number of jobs taken into account for the calculation of the aid shall be increased by one unit.
Example :
For an artistic stage composed of 3 artists and one technician, the aid for a performance (from 01/05/23) is equal to: 3 x 55,35€ + 1 x 55,35 = €221.40.
Room measuring between 301 and 500 people
For each performance or repetition, the amount of aid paid shall be the product of the number of performers by the lump sum next:

If at least one technician is involved in the production of the representation, the number of jobs taken into account for the calculation of the aid shall be increased by one unit.
Example :
For an artistic stage composed of 5 artists and one technician, the aid for a performance (from 01/05/23) is equal to: 5 x 43,05 + 1 x 43,05 = €258.30.
The same company may benefit from the aid up to €22,000 maximum per calendar year. This limit shall apply to aid applied for in respect of representations for the calendar year concerned.
The aid application must be submitted online to the Payment and Services Agency (PSA) in a six-month period from the date of the last performance.

The Payment and Services Agency (PSA) shall make available a guide to completing the aid application step by step.
The company or association must include with its application subsequent documents :
- Salary slips of each artist or technician making up the art board
- Employment contracts of each artist or technician making up the art board
- Declaration of results and its annexes (last statement sent to tax authorities) attesting that the last reported turnover or annual balance sheet does not exceed EUR 5 million
- Proof of tonnage or ticketing, may be one of the following:
- The minutes of the Security Committee visit
- A ticket voucher showing the maximum number of tickets offered for sale
- A statement on the honor of the mayor whose hall is directly under his responsibility
- A photo of the safety data sheet displayed in the performance hall (with mention of the gage and identification of the hall)
- For shows abroad, any document attesting to the tonnage of the venue. If the document is in a foreign language, it must be accompanied by a certified translation on the following terms: title of the document, date of the document, part referring to the gage of the room and signatory.
The Service and Payment Agency shall check the accuracy of the declarations. After examination of the application, an email of eligibility or refusal will be sent to the employer.
In the event of an incomplete file or inadmissible document(s), the SPA shall send an email to the applicant inviting him to complete his file. The applicant shall have a period of1 month to complete his application.
