Support for "clean" Paris taxis accessible to disabled people

Since 16 May 2022, aid has been introduced in Île-de-France for the purchase or hire of low-emission taxis accessible by wheelchair. This amounts to 40% of the acquisition cost. The particular accessibility characteristics to be respected have just been specified.

With a view to preparing for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, support has been put in place to increase the number of taxis accessible to people with reduced mobility in Île-de-France.

The amount of the aid

This aid to taxis, limited to Île-de-France, amounts to 40% of the acquisition cost:

  • Up to €16,500 for vehicles classified as ‘electric’;
  • Up to €9 500 for vehicles classified as ‘1’.

The conditions for obtaining

In order to be eligible for this aid, the vehicle acquired or leased must:

  • be a passenger transport vehicle equipped to accommodate persons with reduced mobility and having a maximum of eight seating positions (excluding driver);
  • have not been previously registered in France or abroad;
  • be registered in France in a definitive series (the technical and administrative file of the vehicle is complete);
  • not be transferred within 4 years of its first registration and provide proof of the actual and continuous operation of the parking authorization for 4 years after its first registration in the territory of Île-de-France;
  • be classified as ‘electric’ or ‘1’ and emit 170 grams or less of carbon dioxide per kilometer.

Compliance with special accessibility features

In order to be eligible for this aid, the vehicle concerned must also comply with specific accessibility features for persons with reduced mobility and wheelchair users:

  • the minimum useful height of accesses to the compartment where wheelchair users are to be located shall be 1 350 mm;
  • the access ramp, a device consisting of a sloping plane through which the floor of the passenger compartment can be moved to the ground and vice versa, shall have a maximum gradient not exceeding 21 % of the ground. A kneeling system, allowing the body of the vehicle to be lowered and raised totally or partially with respect to its normal running position, may be used for this purpose;
  • the height of the main gage shall be at least 1 400 mm.

Time limits

Applications for this support must be submitted by December 31, 2024.

The first 1,000 complete and eligible applications will be supported.
