Good Repute

You do not have the right to become a hairdresser if you have been sentenced to one of the following:

  • Prohibition of directing, managing, administering or controlling directly or indirectly a commercial or craft company

Diplomas

To be a hairdresser at home, the minimum required is the HEADGEAR.

If you pass the CAP just after the class of 3e, PCA training lasts 2 years ; but if you pass it later (after 1re or the terminal for example), it then lasts 1 year.

No other diplomas or qualifications are required.

If you do not have this minimum degree, but you have 3 years of professional experience, you can obtain a professional qualification certificate from the CMA: titleContent.

Please note

You can then pass other diplomas or qualifications that are not compulsory but useful, alternating, such as for example the Additional information (MC) colour cut in 1 year, the Professional patent (BP) hairdressing in 2 years, the bachelor's degree professional specialty hairdressing or the certificate of professional studies (BEP) specialty hairdressing. 

Be your own boss

You need to know if you are ready to work as a self-employed person.

Only one Siren is given by natural person.

It is the Insee who awards it automatically following your declaration of activity.

You receive it on your personal area of the company Formalities Office.

Siret

You will have as many Siret numbers as d'declared business addresses.

As soon as declaration of activity is validated, you receive automatically your Siret in your personal Single Window space.

When you perform different but reported activities at a single address, you will have 1 Siret only.

Warning  

You must wait receive your Siret number to issue your first invoice.

Only one Siren is given by natural person.

It is the Insee who awards it automatically following your declaration of activity. You will receive it on your personal space of the Single Window.

Siret

You'll have as many Siret numbers as you havedeclared business addresses.

As soon as declaration of activity is accepted, you receive automatically your Siret in the personal area of the Single Window.

When you perform different but reported activities at a single address, you will have 1 Siret only.

Warning  

You must wait receive your Siret number to issue your first invoice.
